Class Descriptions
Introductory Mat
Designed for people new to the Pilates technique, introductory classes will cover the basic repertoire of Pilates exercises focusing on the key principles. The workout is slow and controlled; you can expect to leave a class feeling “worked” yet relaxed. The sessions are progressive and will prepare you for an Essential level class.
Essential Mat
Designed for people who have a good understanding of the basic principles and who have completed an introductory class. Essential mat work material is covered with a focus on full version, essential level exercises, progressing toward preparation exercises for more intermediate work. Workouts may include the ball, fitness circles, thera-band, foam rollers and arc barrels.
Intermediate 1 and 2
This challenging workout is appropriate for participants who have mastered the full essential repertoire and have the strength, flexibility and stamina to integrate new intermediate exercises. Workouts may include the ball, fitness circles, thera-band and wunda chair work.
Intermediate 3
Very physically challenging. Workout covers the full mat repertoire. The pace is considerably quicker to develop stamina as well as strength and coordination. Please consult with instructor to determine readiness. Workouts may include the ball, fitness circles, thera-band, foam rollers and wunda chair work.
Refomer Classes
The Reformer class is a progression class geared to those clients who have demonstrated they can perform the intermediate mat classes. This class focuses on the Pilates reformer; primarily using resistance against tensioned springs, in order to isolate and develop specific muscle groups. The class is a choreographed routine of fundamental exercises that stabilize the core, mobilize the joints, and strengthen, stretch and lengthen your body. The class is a nice variation for those looking to add to their mat routines.
Circut Classes
The cicut class geared to Intermediate 3 Students give the client a full range of mat, chair, reformer and small apparatus. Over the session the group will rotate between the different equipment and will be challenged at an intermediate 3 level.
